on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods CISG
The CISG strives to create a uniform international sales law ,and to regulate the rights and obligations of buyers and sellers in international transactions for the sale of goods. Already now, a number of countries that account for two-thirds of all world trade have joined the CISG, and the number is on the rise. This site aims to spread information on the nature of the CISG and on the manner in which it has been interpreted by the courts and commentators in Israel and in the world. The site is part of a network of national sites on the CISG that have been launched in many countries of the world where the CISG applies.

The instrument of accessionwas deposited with the UN on 22.1.02. the Convention therefore came into force for Israel on 1 February 2003

The Israeli Government ratified Israel's accession to the CISG without any reservations.

The law came into force on February 5, 2000

The Convention has been incorporated into Israeli law by the Knesset
